Invincible Season 3 just finished and fans are wondering what’s next for Mark Grayson. Get ready for some big news about Invincible Season 5! The popular animated series on Prime Video is getting wild.

What’s the scoop?

Invincible is getting a 5th season along with Season 4. This came from a post on Skybound Republic, a crowdfunding site linked to the show’s parent company, which has since been deleted. Ouch, that hurt, Mark Grayson’s story isn’t done yet. Amazon Prime Video has officially announced Season 5 but this matches what creator Robert Kirkman wants to do which is to adapt all 144 issues of the comic. Each season has about 15 to 20 issues so we might have 7 to 9 seasons to tell the whole story. A lot of superhero fun ahead!

The news came from a campaign for an Invincible video game that has raised over $440,000 so far. This means Skybound and Amazon are really committed to the franchise not just with the show but also in other formats. Season 3 ended on March 13, 2025. In the finale Mark battles the Viltrumite Conquest voiced by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The stakes are high and this Season 5 update means Kirkman’s team is planning big surprises for both longtime fans and new viewers.

Season 4 is confirmed for 2026 and now Season 5 is reported to be renewed. This means Invincible will have regular release dates so fans won’t have to wait 2 years like they did between Season 1 and 2. Kirkman said there will be new seasons every year and the voice acting for Season 4 is already done according to a hint on social media. In Season 3 the story revolves around Mark’s conflict with Cecil Stedman and the growing danger from the Viltrumites.

This sets up big storylines for Season 4 which will probably explore the aftermath of the Invincible War and Mark’s struggle to balance his hero life with his personal life. Season 5 might go even further and bring in new villains like Thragg who was hinted to be part of Season 4.

The show has emotional resonance and unflinching action. Season 3 got a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and the fans loved it for the smart writing and voice cast which includes Steven Yeun and J. K. Simmons. Simmons and Sandra Oh. In Season 5 we will see the return of Mark, Omni-Man and Atom Eve and new heroes and villains to the cast. Kirkman wants to adapt the whole comic so we can expect a lot of surprises and character development.

What does the Season 5 announcement mean?

It means Amazon is committed to Invincible as a top tier show and putting it right up there with The Boys. The renewal means they believe the show can keep delivering new and edgy stories in the superhero genre. For comic book fans this means we will get more of Kirkman’s story with moral dilemmas and unexpected betrayals. For newbies to the series this means you can jump in and get immersed in a show that balances emotion, humor and mature (but graphic) violence for 18+ audiences. And with the video game coming out the Invincibleuniverse is expanding.
