Hot Toys Unveils Stunningly Detailed Galactus Figure, Offering Best Look Yet for "Fantastic Four: First Steps"
Marvel

The hype for The Fantastic Four: First Steps is getting crazy! The trailers have given us hints but Hot Toys has just released some amazing new photos that give us our best look yet at Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds, in the movie!

Hot Toys figures are known for their amazing detail and screen accuracy whether you’re a collector or just a huge fan of these characters. Their Galactus Jumbo Sofvi Figure for Fantastic Four: First Steps is another example of that. This is not a typical collectible, it’s a masterpiece that perfectly captures the cosmic being’s on-screen design.

The 70 cm tall (about 27.6 inches for those on the imperial system) figure is a presence to be reckoned with on any shelf. The design is so screen accurate it hits you right away. We all know and love the helmeted, purple armored Galactus from the Marvel Comics pages and this is a stunningly accurate representation of it – not some watered down version or vague cloud.

With a head sculpt that looks like Ralph Ineson who voices Galactus in the movie, the cosmic figure has a face that’s both otherworldly and strangely familiar. The complex line texture on his face gives a hint of his otherworldliness and extreme age. His stare is made even more menacing and powerful with the cosmic energy radiating from his LED-illuminated eyes.

The metallic red and purple paint on his armor is gorgeous outside of his face. The idea that this is a being of infinite size and strength is reinforced by the plating, the textures and the overall form. It looks like the actual plating of a cosmic titan, not just a costume.

The Hot Toys reveal also shows that the movie’s creative team has really gone for the comic book look which is another cool thing. This character definitely benefits from that and Ineson himself mentioned wearing a full Galactus costume on set, implying a combination of practical effects and CGI to bring the character to life.

With the movie hitting theaters soon, this Hot Toys reveal is perfectly timed. Director Matt Shakman has said Galactus’s motivations in the movie are more focused and scarier than just hunger, and centered around infant Franklin Richards. As the Fantastic Four defend their new family member, this figure gives us a better idea of the massive threat they’ll be up against.

The figure even comes with tiny models of the Silver Surfer, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Mister Fantastic and The Thing which can be attached to Galactus’s body to give perspective on the size difference between the heroes and the Devourer.

This Hot Toys Galactus is more than just a toy, it’s proof of the hard work put into The Fantastic Four: First Steps. When Galactus hits the screen, fans will be assured he’ll be a real deal, comic accurate and visually stunning.
