It’s been confirmed that Superman has made more worldwide than The Flash (2023) in just 7 days!
Let’s simplify that. The Flash with its big budget and all the hype before it came out only made $271.3 million worldwide during its entire run. Superman with David Corenswet as the Man of Steel has already made over $272.7 million worldwide in one week! That’s good news for the new DC Universe and a big sigh of relief for Warner Bros.
It’s not just about beating one old movie; it’s a big message. The Flash didn’t do well at the box office and hurt the previous DC Extended Universe and made people question the brand’s future. Superman is back and doing better than the last movie and doing it fast. That means the Man of Steel is back and people are excited about James Gunn’s ideas.
The movie started strong with $125 million in the US and over $95 million in other countries. That’s over $220 million worldwide for the opening weekend. It had good numbers during the weekdays which is a good sign for how long the movie will do well.
