The new Tron: Ares trailer is out and it’s showing us Jared Leto’s AI fighter in the real world. Directed by Joachim Rønning this third Tron movie looks awesome.
The Big Reveal of the Trailer
The trailer shows Ares, the powerful AI program played by Jared Leto. Ares is from the digital world called the Grid and has a secret mission in the real world. Evan Peters plays a character named Julian Dillinger who says Ares is the “ultimate soldier”. Ares is strong, super fast and can heal quickly.
But here’s the twist: Ares is a “broken program” that wants to live, as Kevin Flynn played by Jeff Bridges asks in a mysterious conversation. Gillian Anderson’s character is skeptical and says this AI could be dangerous if it gets into our world. The visuals are insane. Bright neon digital worlds mix with rough real life places, it’s a new take on the Tron style.
The Cast and Creative Powerhouse
Tron: Ares has an amazing cast which includes Greta Lee, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan and also Peters, Anderson and Bridges. Directed by Joachim Rønning who also did Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the movie has music by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross from Nine Inch Nails.
Their song “As Alive As You Need Me To Be” is already setting the mood. The soundtrack drops September 19 and it looks like it’s going to be just as good as Daft Punk’s score for Tron: Legacy. This team is taking the Tron franchise to new heights.
